Why people are still using IE6

IE6, a legacy from good old Windows XP and still a very dominant browser, boasting 14% of all internet browsers in use (see W3Schools). Still, it contains non-standard implementations of HTML, CSS and Javascript. However, given that it was released on August 27, 2001, one can not assign blame to Microsoft, but rather encourage people to upgrade their browsers.

So why are people reluctant to update their browsers? Data fromĀ swivel shows the following:
